The WWE universe will always remember dusty Rhodes as the fun-loving Superstar with polka dot tights.
Dusty Rhodes was a favorite among the audience
Rhodes was born to a plumber in Texas, something he later incorporated into his wrestling gimmick. He worked relentlessly to become one of the most decorated Superstars in WWE. He may not have had the traditional wrestler’s physique, but he still retained an infectious energy due to which the audience gravitated towards him.
Fans would line up to witness Rhodes deliver his Bionic Elbow to his rivals. Apart from spilling blood and sweat in the ring, Rhodes was also an impeccable mic worker. He had the exceptional ability to sell his story while delivering the iconic line – “I have wined and dine with kings and queens, and I’ve slept in alleys and dined on pork and beans.”

Dusty Rhodes made it to the top of the NWA where he fought a lengthy battle with the Four Horsemen and captured the NWA World Heavyweight Title. Following this, he came back to WWE in 1990.
This is when he started introducing his sons to the ring and the audience. First, he introduced Dustin Rhodes, who revolutionized professional wrestling with his Goldust persona. A decade later, he introduced Cody Rhodes to the ring. Today, his sons continue to prove that they are more than capable of carrying on his legacy.
The Rhodes brothers teamed up once to defend the honor of their family, back during their WWE days. This was during WWE Battleground 2013 when the three of them went up against The Shield.
