Drew McIntyre has been absent from WWE TV ever since he fell short of taking the Intercontinental championship at WrestleMania 39 in a Triple Threat match. It’s been two months since his hiatus and fans are eager to see him inside the squared circle.
Well, even if it’s not from the squared circle, the 38-year-old came back to public attention. There have been rumors and reports regarding his return at the upcoming Money in The Bank PLE to be held in the United Kingdom. But before that, fans might be content seeing him interacting with Team Special Olympics USA through a recent Instagram video. Also, it might be a subtle hint of his return.

Despite the months of absence from WWE storylines, McIntyre showed up for carrying out his duty to the company. The Scottish Warrior was named a Special Olympics ambassador back in 2021. WWE, who has been an international partner of Special Olympics since 2016, recently announced that the former WWE champion will be attending the world games in Berlin, scheduled for 17 to 25 June.
Special Olympics will begin with 7000 athletes competing in 26 different sports in Germany. Ahead of the game, the brand ambassador himself reached out to the contenders, as depicted in WWE’s recently released clip. McIntyre, in a black-colored company T-shirt, uttered, “Alright, time for a little surprise, if people remember who I am” while getting out of his car to meet the special talents.

WWE arranged many meetings and creative pitches to decide on a direction for McIntyre before his return. Given that this will possibly be McIntyre’s last WWE run, the former champion seems to need some solid plans ready on the platter before he resumed action.
But will WWE be able to bring him back to the upcoming London show in front of the UK fans?

Well, there is no doubt that WWE is more than willing to do that, but the real picture is something different. Money in The Bank is approaching closer and there is still no clear opponent for the McIntyre.
Given that most of the stars are already occupied with their respective storylines, it will be interesting to see where exactly WWE plans to plant him in case of a return scenario.
