Former WWE superstar talks about his respect and admiration towards The Undertaker. Miro, popularly known as Rusev, spoke about his respect for various WWE legends on his own podcast.
Rusev was released by the WWE in 2020 due to COVID budget cuts. The Bulgarian Brute has a good number of achievements in his small six-year stint in the WWE.
However, if one would ask Rusev his favorite achievement, he would choose working with the Undertaker over his title reigns, Rusev day, and undefeated run.

Funnily, when this match was being discussed, Rusev didn’t believe it.
“I thought it was a rib. I got called in the office by Vince. He said ‘Miro, I got you working with The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia’. I’m like (laughs) and ‘I’m winning right?’ That’s exactly what I said, that’s what exactly my reaction was.
“Because I thought he was joking. So I said, ‘I’m going over, right?’ He was like ‘Hahaha.’ He looked at me kind of weird. I’m like ‘Alright sir, I’ll see you next time’,” recalls Rusev.
The match took place in Saudi Arabia. It was a predictable one as The Phenom defeated Rusev in a casket match.
Despite that, this Match in Saudi Arabia is still remembered fondly by Rusev. However, he still hesitates to speak to the Deadman even after working with him.
Rusev feels intimidated by The Undertaker
Rusev on his youtube channel talks about being intimidated by The Undertaker. The Bulgarian still fails to believe he worked with The Reaper.
“I’m intimidated to this day from Taker. He has done nothing wrong to me, like nothing wrong. I got to work against the Undertaker, like Jesus.”
The former U.S Champion went on to speak about growing and admiring legends like The Undertaker, Triple H, and Rey Mysterio. He claims that they are unreachable gods and still cannot believe he worked with them.
“Sometimes I would see Taker and just go the other way. Because I’m still in aww these guys, I grew up watching them. He was my hero. Like back in the day if I would say I am gonna know the Undertaker and I am gonna be wrestling him, everyone would stone me to death probably, really like to stone me. Even if I tell someone now I worked with the Undertaker People will not believe me even though we did it in front of 65 thousand people. I have so much respect for these guys.”
Rusev certainly is the most talented superstar to be underutilized by the WWE. His downfall started after his undefeated streak was ended by John Cena.
After a few bad years, he enjoyed a couple of good ones. The Rusev day gimmick was probably the best time Rusev had on WWE TV.

Since his release from WWE, Rusev has been home and doing his online YouTube shows. He tested positive for COVID-19 recently and is recovering from the virus.
It will be interesting to see if just like his former colleagues, he chooses Impact wrestling or AEW.
