WWE recently released eighteen superstars from their contract and Taya Valkyrie F.K.A Franky Monet is one of them. She was released after being signed in February of 2021.
Following her release, Monet is currently the hottest free agent, but she can’t commit to any promotions due to the non-compete clause that she agreed to.

Reportedly, WWE has new age requirements for female wrestlers, which is why Monet was released from her contract. An online troll commented underneath a tweet, asking WWE not to hire old wrestlers and only focus on the young.
Franky replied angrily to this tweet and had some words to share.
STFU…. I just turned 38, I’ve been ashamed to even SPEAK about my age until today. 38 is not old…especially when you’re a man. Process that. https://t.co/3OxJM1GNGn

Franky pointed out a valuable thing. Age isn’t necessary for men in the business, so why should women be held to that standard when they are perfectly capable of performing at a high level.
If Vince McMahon is enforcing the age requirement, it seems somewhat hypocritical because many active women on the women’s roster are above 35+, including Asuka, Candice LeRae, and many more. Monet has more thoughts to share regarding the age issue and tweeted this out,
Age should never be and issue a d I’m sick of ppl using that as a reason that someone should lose their job. I’m a women, a wife a mother to 2 dogs, an aunt and a friend. Nobody should EVER say that 38 is old. GROW UPPPPP https://t.co/sHmVp27fx0

Cutting ten talented women from the roster is harmful because it doesn’t allow more stars to be built, and WWE continues using the same women.
The writers seem uninterested in building more women stars in the company, which does not reflect well on the women’s division when the competitor elevates their women’s division.

Franky Monet releases a statement after her release.
Franky has released a statement and expressed her disappointment with people who lied to her.
I’ll say the hardest thing for me to process after being released, is realizing the amount of ppl that lied to me. Some of ya’ll should be ashamed.

Before putting out that tweet, Monet tweeted an official statement to thank NXT, Triple H, and Shawn Michaels for welcoming her.

She ended the statement by saying, “Time to let la WERA LOCA loose. Let’s make magic.” which is a nod to her old gimmick that she had before she signed with WWE.
