Recently Released Former World Heavyweight Champion Could Be a Prime Candidate to Switch to Tony Khan’s AEW

The game of horse-trading between Tony Khan and Vince McMahon has turned into a regular occurrence. In fact, the AEW has emerged as a viable alternative for wrestlers who are creatively not happy with WWE or are released by the company. While one would think that the WWE would improve itself to prevent wrestler poaching, WWE is actually releasing wrestlers. A social media post recently broke the shocking news of Dolph Ziggler’s departure from the WWE and there is a distinct possibility of him ending up in AEW.

This is not only due to the fact that Tony Khan likes to bring ex-WWE talent to his company, but Ziggler also has some connection with the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Dolph Ziggler to become another AEW Elite

The WWE has recently turned into a promotion where the termination of contracts has become commonplace. The WWE stands as the pioneer and the biggest pro wrestling company in the world. However, despite its gargantuan size, everything more or less still happens according to the will of chairman Vince McMahon. 

While people left for the AEW because of WWE’s autocracy, McMahon has now become the bringer of destruction and has started firings on his own. The most recent wrestling sensation to bear the brunt of Vince McMahon’s whims is Dolph Ziggler. A viral tweet posted by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.com broke the astonishing news. 

The tweet said, “Fightful has learned that former World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler has been released by WWE.” Dolph Ziggler was one of the company’s big names, who boasts a stellar pro wrestling career in WWE. The 43-year-old failed to etch his involvement in meaningful booking choices anyway and the last time he entered the ring was on 29th May.

As a response, however, Vince McMahon terminated his contract with the WWE. Several fans speculate where the shining wrestler will go from here. Fortunately, another tweet from last month may have the answer for Ziggler’s next destination.

Ziggler to return to the fold via AEW?

The viral tweet showcased a video clip from the popular YouTube series, Being The Elite. The show is directly associated with Tony Khan’s AEW and showed Dolph Ziggler signing some posters. This news, along with the firing of Ziggler, straightforwardly points to the star’s future at the AEW.

However, the high-profile wrestler is also doing standup comedy these days. Dolph Ziggler has recently discovered another new niche where he can entertain people. 

However, this time, instead of his slick bad-boy attitude and combat skills, he uses his sense of humor. Ziggler has performed at many venues so far and has also received staunch support from the crowd.
