Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has been conspicuously absent from the wrestling scene. In his last appearance, he wrestled Cody Rhodes and finished the saga with an impromptu hand-shake. Although Lesnar is a part-timer who makes sporadic appearances around major PLEs, this time he did not show up event at Survivor Series, a top-tier PLE for WWE.
But as fans are left wondering what his next move will be, an update on The Beast Incarnate’s future at the promotion has finally dropped.

Former WWE Champion Brock Lesnar has been absent from the WWE circuit for over 4 months. However, Aaron Varble of SEScoops has provided an update on Lesnar’s return. He reports, “I was told by a tenured source within WWE after SummerSlam that Brock Lesnar won’t be back to wrestle for the rest of 2023.”
The report confirms that we won’t see Lesnar for the rest of the year and that includes any special episodes WWE may produce for Christmas. It also indicates that Lesnar may not feature in the Day 1 PLE unless it’s a surprise appearance. Day 1 is not one of the top PLEs for WWE, hence it is understandable for Lesnar to not make a return there. But what about Royal Rumble?
Varble further reported, “The Royal Rumble event is the next big event on WWE’s schedule. I could not get a definite confirmation that Brock Lesnar will be a part of the January 27th Royal Rumble event, but it was not denied to me, either.”
As of now, Lesnar’s return at Royal Rumble hangs in the balance. Considering WWE’s habit of featuring surprise returns at Rumble, we may see him as one of the contestants, thus building storylines while heading to WrestleMania.

SEScoops has also seemingly gotten confirmation of Lesnar’s return at WrestleMania. He stated, “I was told that Brock Lesnar is slated to be on the WrestleMania 40 card.” Lesnar is a star attraction for WWE and hence it makes sense for WWE to feature him for WrestleMania. However, seeing him at WrestleMania might mean the start of a new feud for the champion.
Brock Lesnar has already finished his feuds with some of the top stars in WWE. The list includes Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and Cody Rhodes. Given his current status in the company, he is used as a yardstick to elevate top-tier performers. Hence, CM Punk or LA Knight may be the stars to challenge him. And it may well start with a typical Royal Rumble elimination.
