Ever since his entry into Hollywood, John Cena did not shy away from making new celebrity friends. One of the latest ones is the Hollywood action movie legend, Jackie Chan. The two superstars recently co-starred in a Hollywood movie, ‘Hidden Strike’. The Netflix-exclusive movie was released on July 28th. To promote his film better, Cena uploaded a picture of his co-star. However, it wasn’t a regular appreciation post.
The Prototype posted a picture of Jackie Chan in a rather troubled situation to make fun of the Hollywood legend. This move was probably done to help the movie’s marketing but also to playfully tease his overseas friend.

The former WWE champion is more than 20 years younger than his Hong Kong-born co-star. This combined with the difference in their experiences creates a wider gap between the two. However, it looks like the two actors did not let this ‘gap’ get the best of them. The duo’s chemistry inside and outside the film suggests that they have already become friends. Cena decided to make full use of this fact.
The WWE legend took to his Instagram to post a picture of Jackie Chan on his account. In the picture, we can see the Hollywood ‘Walk of Fame’ star struggling to hold on in an action-packed movie scene. However, due to the picture being a ‘still’ version of an intensely moving frame, and Cena sharing it without context, it appeared to be a hilarious attempt to make fun of his co-star.

Despite what Cena is posting on social media, he has publicly confessed how he once gave tribute to Jackie Chan in a WWE match. This happened during an untelevised event in Shanghai.

While filming ‘Hidden Strike’, John Cena might have learned a lot of things from his senior actor. One of the things he picked up was an iconic ‘action-comedy move’. During the untelevised event in Shanghai, John Cena shocked the WWE universe by using the back of his fist to hit somebody’s face.

Later in Jimmy Fallon’s show, he confessed that Jackie Chan was where he picked his move from. It was likely that this interaction must have taken place during ‘Hidden Strike’s shooting.
He even went on to threaten Jimmy Fallon in his own show using the same technique. Showing off new learnings that he acquired from a talented co-actor, John Cena probably felt proud of himself.
