Drew McIntyre faced off AJ Styles in an epic TLC Match for the WWE Championship last night. The match kicked off WWE TLC and gave it a perfect start. The action was fast from the get go, and both men worked well until Mr. Money In The Bank, The Miz, came in.

The Miz fails to cash in his Money In The Bank Contract

Drew McIntyre threw AJ Styles through a table at ringside and slowly climbed the ladder to retrieve the WWE Championship. Suddenly, The Miz came out with John Morrison and immediately attacked McIntyre on the ladder. He then powerbombed through the table and cashed in his Money In The Bank contract.

Miz cashing in meant the match was now a Triple Threat TLC Match. Just as the ‘A-Lister’ climbed on top, Styles’ bodyguard, Omos, stopped him from successfully retrieving the Championship and sent him through a table at ringside.

Eventually, Drew McIntyre retained his WWE Championship despite all the unfavorable odds. Not just that, but with McIntyre keeping it meant The Miz’s Money In The Bank Contract was also wasted.

Money In The Bank wasted again!

Honestly, if there was any credible Money In The Bank holder in this decade, it’s Seth Rollins. Other than Rollins, no one was the rightful winner of the match, not even John Cena or Randy Orton!

Last year too, Brock Lesnar simply walked in, climbed up, and removed the briefcase like it was nothing. The MITB contract is to catapult Superstars from the mid-card to the main event, but no one has done it because WWE hasn’t given the chance to a deserving young wrestler.

WrestleVotes had reported that Vince McMahon wanted The Miz to cash in the MITB contract, but had also mentioned that most ideas were shot down. Also, it wasn’t a sure thing that The Miz would’ve won the Championship if he cashed in his contract.

WWE’s MITB booking needs to start from scratch. The match and the contract are key elements of WWE programming, and they can do wonders if they do what’s right for fans and the wrestlers not just for the business.
