The Undisputed Era have completed three years at NXT. They debuted in 2017, and even main evented that year’s edition of War Games. In that match, Adam Cole smashed Eric Young in the face with a chair assisted Last Shot, to announce the Undisputed Era’s arrival in NXT.
From being conniving, obnoxious heels, to the most beloved faces on the brand, the Undisputed Era have come a long way. It might be a hard pill to swallow, but NXT Takeover: War Games might’ve been their NXT swansong.
NXT’s most iconic faction deserved an iconic send off. Pat McAfee turned himself into the biggest heel in the industry, in order to put the Undisputed Era over as the biggest babyfaces in WWE. He not only succeeded, but even delivered a superb performance in only his second NXT match.

The Kings of NXT were made to look like a serious threat to the Era’s hold over NXT. When Adam Cole lost his coveted NXT Championship, Pat McAfee attacked him with some sharp verbal jabs. He ridiculed his size the most, causing Adam Cole to flip out. Their first physical confrontation ended with McAfee knocking Cole out with a vicious punt kick square in the jaw.
Cole defeated McAfee at Takeover: 30, but McAfee soon returned with a malicious plan. He recruited Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch, and Pete Dunne to rid NXT of the Undisputed Era. This led to the eventual match at War Games, where the Era managed to silence the Kings of NXT.

Adam Cole has got nothing to prove in NXT anymore. He has already become a Triple Crown Champion, and his immense popularity guarantees main roster success for him. As for Kyle O’Reilly, he’s desperate to embark on a singles’ run. He has proven to be a future singles star on the yellow brand. As for Roderick Strong and Bobby Fish, tag team success beckons the duo, with Cole and O’Reilly breaking out.
If this is indeed the Undisputed Era’s NXT swansong, then it was the absolute perfect way to say goodbye. After achieving everything there is to achieve in NXT, they will be looking to Shock the System on the main roster. Is it time to say goodbye to the Capitol Wrestling Centre, as the ThunderDome awaits?
