Is WWE making a huge mistake by letting go of Bobby Lashley and MVP?

Bobby Lashley returned to WWE on April 9, 2018, on an episode of Monday Night Raw, the night after WrestleMania 34. His return came as a surprise to fans. He quickly made his mark by attacking Elias and establishing himself as a serious contender from the start. One of the most significant developments in Lashley’s career since his return has been his role in the group The Hurt Business.

The faction that debuted in 2020 included MVP, Shelton Benjamin, and Cedric Alexander. This group was noted for its dominance on Raw, and Lashley benefited greatly from his association with MVP, who became his spokesperson and mentor. But it seems like both MVP and Bobby Lashley may very well be out of the company very soon.

It has been reported that Bobby Lashley’s contract with WWE will come to an end soon. In fact, he is no longer on the company’s internal roster. However, the company’s internal roster no longer includes Lashley as the only WWE talent. Moreover, that’s not the only casualty.

MVP and Tamina have also been removed from WWE’s internal roster. So far, there is no official confirmation that they have left the company or that they are about to do so. But it is undoubtedly a very important indication that this could be the case. But why did the WWE decide to let such veterans of the sport leave?

This is one question that is haunting the WWE universe. Many are wondering if WWE has started its yearly budget cuts already. The leading wrestling promotion is infamous for mass-releasing its superstars once or twice a year, but they are often mid-carders or washed-away superstars. While the Hurt Business surely was still a significant threat. Fans are left with their heads scratching, and all they had were some theories to share on the internet.

Fans attribute lack of creative plans behind the exit of Bobby Lashley

What’s your perspective on:

Is WWE making a huge mistake by letting go of Bobby Lashley and MVP?

Have an interesting take?

The situation surely shocked fans. Some were still prepared about the WWE letting MVP and Tamina go. MVP has been missing from WWE programming for a long time. In his later years, he has been as a manager to Omos and previously was part of The Hurt Business with Bobby Lashley, Cedric Alexander, and Shelton Benjamin. On the other hand, Tamina’s absence is even longer, with her last match being at a Main Event show in February 2023.

Some believed that the decision was made after the WWE realized that they had too many factions now. The Final Testament, The New Day, Alpha Academy, The Wyatt Sicks6, and the Bloodline to name a few. So the WWE surely did not see them pushing them all, hence, they decided to let the Hurt Business go.

One fan speculated that Lashley won’t be let go and he is just out injured. A few months ago, Bobby Lashley was supposed to be a part of the King of the Ring tournament. However, it was later announced that he would not be a part of it because of an injury he received during training. Since then, he has been on a hiatus. So maybe he is on the list because of an injury.

Many fans believe that now since Lashley and the Hurt Business have been let go, they can be signed by All Elite Wrestling. Since they are always hiring top tier talents from the WWE, especially big draws like Edge, Chris Jericho, and Mercedes Mone.
