Hulk Hogan and Brock Lesnar are two legends from different WWE eras. So what happens when legends collide inside the ring? Yes, you guess it right. The WWE Universe gets to witness blockbuster showdowns. That’s what happened when the two stars stepped inside the ring against each other 21 years ago.

During their brawl in August 2002, Lesnar decimated Hogan in front of a live audience in SmackDown. So, the latter knows what happens when you mess with Lesnar. That’s why ‘The Hulkster’ once used head Olympic coach Brad Riggins as a human shield to protect himself from The Beast Incarnate’s wrath.

During a recent interview with Theo Von from This Past Weekend, Hogan revealed he would train in a gym in Minnesota. Lesnar also happened to be there, being billed from Minnesota as well. Therefore, he would throw Brad Riggins under the bus to escape ‘The Beast’ in the gym.

He said, “When I was in Minnesota, I used to train at the gym with Brad Riggins, the head Olympic coach. And Brock Lesnar used to come down and work out with us back in the day and another guy named Kevin Kelly, who was a real tough kid man.”

“And so I would tell those guys, I’d the Lesnar, I’d tell Kevin Kelley, look bro, I am the main event guy. Brad Riggins, the Olympic coach. He’s in the preliminary match, so you guys beat him. You can try me. So Brad saved me from these guys,” he added.

Hogan is very well aware of Lesnar’s strength and capability of annihilating anyone, anywhere. Therefore, he made sure to keep his distance from him while working out in the Minnesota gym. Good for ‘Hulkamania’, cause the last time he went against Lesnar didn’t end well for him.

The time when Lesnar humiliated Hogan

Shortly after Lesnar made his debut in WWE, he was put up against the WWE Hall of Famer in a quick rivalry. For a few weeks, the promotion built their rivalry, finally setting up a match for the August 8, 2002 edition of SmackDown. During the match, nobody expected rookie Lesnar to decimate veteran Hogan.

The ending of the match was brutal to watch as Lesnar f-5ed Hogan and tried to break his ribs with a bear hug. The referee had to call for the bell as Hogan had passed out as ‘The Beast’ was crushing his ribs. On top of that, Lesnar added an insult to the injury when he slammed a chair into Hogan’s head. This led his head to bust open and bleed.

That was the only match Hogan and Lesnar ever fought against each other. However, the two stars did have a brief stare-down on the August 14, 2014 episode of RAW. During the Flagship show, ‘Thunder Lips’ celebrated his 61st birthday along with his WWE friends before Lesnar crashed his party.

‘The Beast Incarnate’ gave a cold stare to everyone in the ring present, finally stopping in front of the birthday boy. Things quickly escalated when Lesnar handed Hogan ultimate disrespect when he called him “Grandpa”. After a few seconds, John Cena (Lesnar’s SummerSlam opponent for the year) came out to the ring and Lesnar retreated.
