The perks of being an actor are the varied roles one gets to portray. Some of them might also need makeup that can give them a totally different look than their real self. Like John Cena, who played a drug dealer in the 2015 movie- Sisters. While Cena is known for his sober and clean lifestyle and a family friendly appearance, his character as Pazuzu provided a sharp contrast.
That, however, wasn’t the only difference the 16-time world champion had between the character and his real life. The look of a heavily tattooed man was also one of them. While he carried the look with grace, it is surprising that John Cena doesn’t have a single tattoo on his body. But do you know why?

Despite playing a tough guy, John Cena once admitted being scared
As a wrestler and an actor, John Cena is surrounded by people who have gotten inked. Some of his peers have more than one tattoo, with a few getting a substantial amount of their bodies covered in ink. While this might prove to be an influence for him to get one done, a fear closer kept him at bay.

Over 21 years, The Cenation Leader has played a tough wrestler, who manages to get up despite being thrown around by bigger opponents. But in 2015, Cena admitted his real fear, which prevented him from getting a tattoo. It is none other than his mother- Carol Cena.
Speaking to Page Six, he revealed how his mother’s possible reactions always kept Cena away from a tattoo parlor. Cena, who sported a facial tattoo in the film, was asked whether he would get inked. He replied he would never do that.
“I do not have any tattoos on my body . . . My mom would kill me if I was to do anything like that,” said the 46-year-old. This proves, despite his bravado, John Cena was actually a mama’s boy who abided by the rules.
And while Cena is not getting a tattoo, he has inspired many to get inked. Recently, something similar took the internet by storm.
Fan shows off classic John Cena tattoo
If you’re a fan of John Cena, you would know not everything is straightforward with the former WWE champion. In fact, a big part of his wrestling career deals with ‘invisibility’.
Now, before you get offended, let’s break it down. The sentiment is a long running joke on Cena’s iconic ‘You Can’t See Me’ catchphrase, which has since given life to many memes and pop culture references, transcending the boundaries of pro wrestling.

However, a fan took this to a new high by practically getting a John Cena tattoo. After the area was rubbed clean, it showed a spotless area of the forearm, with a Cena cutout for reference. Again, this alludes to the invisibility joke.
Needless to say, the execution and timing of the video was hailed by many, including a 38-year-old NBA shooting coach, who appreciated the funny side of things. Arguably, the tattoo would also get an approval from Carol Cena as it satisfies the conditions she set for her wrestler son.
