Even though professional wrestling is pre-determined, the beating all the wrestlers take is real. By the end of their careers, they have already taken a huge toll on their body. Similarly, Hulk Hogan had multiple surgeries on his back, which cost him a lot of millions of dollars. But once he sued the hospital that performed surgeries for his back pain. That canceled his potential match with a then WWE Champion as per Hogan.

In January 2013, Hulk Hogan filed a claim against the Tampa-based Laser Spine Institute. As the Hulkster said, the hospital performed a series of ineffective procedures costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. This is according to a lawsuit filed in Pinellas-Pasco Circuit Court.
The Immortal estimated a total loss of $50 million in all the procedures. Surprisingly, he shared these multiple surgeries put a halt to his WWE return to face John Cena at WrestleMania 25.

The Immortal one said, “You know what, I was supposed to wrestle John Cena for the title, and about four weeks ago I had back surgery. Vince and I were talking about how much involvement I wanted to have in Wrestlemania. If I wanted to keep wrestling, and out of nowhere my back just got really crazy.”
He added, “I went in for an MRI and I had to have some emergency surgery that threw me out of the game. I was kind of flipped out about it, I thought I’d be the main event this year.”

The match between the two biggest babyfaces would have been a banger. Unfortunately, Hogan’s back pain didn’t make that dream match come true. However, other area surgeons had recommended The Hulkster an open lumbar spinal fusion surgery, which Laser Spine does not offer.
The Laser Spine Institute’s statement on the claim Hulk Hogan made
Hogan had lost millions to the hospital to operate on his back. However, when he felt the treatment isn’t doing any wonders, he sued the hospital.

Hogan said, “The repeated additional but unnecessary and ineffective surgeries performed by defendants resulted in significant bone loss and increased spinal instability.”

Nevertheless, the Laser Spine Institute later shared a statement on Hogan’s claim. Their statement said it, “cares about its patients and their outcomes, and is proud to have helped thousands of patients achieve a better quality of life by delivering optimal surgical outcomes.”

After the surgery, they fitted a simulator in the back of Hulk Hogan. The simulator had wires attached to his spinal cord, which helped him reduce the pain. Surely, in this situation, he wasn’t clear to wrestle and also wouldn’t last in the ring for long.
