CM Punk made a chart-busting return to the WWE on the Survivor Series. This entrance was shortly after Punk had been fired by Tony Khan from rival promotion AEW in August. According to sources, a committee led by Punk’s bitter rival, Daniel Bryan, had recommended this action. However, while it seemed like everyone had played their cards, Punk never got a chance to let a word out on the matter.
Punk is known for being an outspoken and bold man who stops at nothing while speaking his mind. The WWE Universe eagerly anticipated the wrestler to finally spill the beans on what had happened. However, nothing of the sort has exited Punk’s mouth so far. Clearing the confusion in the air, a social media post pointed out why CM Punk didn’t have anything to say about Tony Khan.

The adrenaline rush CM Punk had created with his return warranted high expectations from fans for his first promo. The crowd was especially ecstatic since Punk almost always makes a plaything out of the kayfabe protocols wrestlers follow. WrestleFeatures tweeted about the reason for Punk’s unexpected silence while on camera on X.
The tweet read, “For those wondering or disappointed that Punk said nothing about AEW, it’s because both he and others have signed several NDAs regarding talking publicly about the other.” Wrestle Features credited David Meltzer’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter as the source of this information.
Fans were really looking forward to seeing CM Punk take the mic and give Tony Khan, Daniel Bryan, and everyone else involved with his ousting a piece of his mind. However, legal bindings are respected by everyone, including CM Punk, in order to avoid heavy consequences. However, while CM Punk didn’t lash out at Tony Khan, his fans surely did.
