Hulk Hogan has had multiple back surgeries over the course of his life. However, upon having eight surgeries, The Immortal One, got a spinal cord stimulator inserted below the skin in the back. The device used electric currents to alleviate the effects of chronic pain.
In 2012, on The Howard Stern Show Hogan said, “This was seven months. See that thing in the corner, that’s a battery. I’ve gonna get that taken out. The wires go from the battery up through my back.”
Moreover, Hogan’s eighth surgery went on for almost 12 hours, as he spoke about it on the same show. Also, a few years ago, Hogan appeared for an interview on Fox News Objectified. There he told the host, Harvey Levin, about initially being almost 6’8” ft in height and now being 6’4” ft after all the surgeries.

The WWE Hall of Famer said, “I’ve had 17 surgeries over the last 10 years,” Hogan said. “My knees are fake, hips are fake, back is full of metal and part of my face is full of metal. I didn’t get the memo about the fake wrestling,” he concluded.
Clearly, wrestling isn’t what it seems like. The wrestlers feel the effects on the body after retirement of all the toll they take on them while being active stars.
Hulk Hogan also shared the side effects of the battery
The battery in the back had its own side effects on The Hulkster. It wasn’t anything serious, but rather arousing side effects Hogan felt. Back in 2012, the WWE Hall of Famer, shared details with the Canadian TV News.
Hogan said, “It’s an electric stim’ you know? If the pain in my back is too bad and it goes to my head, there’s an electrical current that I can turn on that will cancel out any pain waves, it pretty much makes you so you don’t feel the pain.”
He added, “It’s not a drug, it’s just electricity. I’ve got like a garage door controller with all these buttons on how intense I want to make it, my n**ples stand on end if I want to! And my w**ner stands straight. It’s much better than Viagra!”
