Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods, the original The New Day, have provided the WWE Universe with fresh content which were entertaining as well as engaging. However, WWE split the faction during the 2020 drafts when Big E was called to SmackDown while Kingston and Woods remained on Raw.

However, the trio have continued to maintain their bond as a faction. In fact, when Big E won the Money in the Bank briefcase, Woods and Kingston were right there backstage to celebrate with him.

During a conversation with Corey Graves, Big E revealed the type of work The New Day did as one unit and why they to constantly improvise and keep their content fresh.

“I think it is real amongst the three of us. I think it comes from a very real place. And I think people eventually can see through manufactured chemistry, they can see through a lack of authenticity. And I think it’s been important for us to be as genuine as we can be. Sure, we’re still performing. You’re going out there. And you’re not just yourself doing whatever you want but I think we try to approach our gimmicks, our characters in a very real way. Also, we’ve tried our best. Obviously, there are certain parameters, it’s a television show.”

“You can’t just do whatever you want but we’ve tried our best to keep our stuff fresh, whether it’s gear stuff, whether it’s promo stuff. But we’ve also been baby faces for a very long time. That’s one of the hardest things is to be a baby face for a long time because they’re not cool. We’re not cool.”

Even though they’ve been separated, all three of them are doing exceptionally well for themselves on SmackDown and Raw.

Big E revealed his biggest fear when the fans returned

During the same conversation with Corey Graves, Mr. Money in the Bank spoke about the WWE Universe returning to the arena.

He was afraid the audience wouldn’t respond to him the same way they were doing so when they watched him virtually via the ThunderDome screens. In fact, when he walked out to the arena, he was more nervous than confident.

Luckily, the audience responded and backed him up with cheers and applauds. However, he acknowledges the power the WWE Universe holds. E knows the fans who are responding today may not respond three months later. As a result, even when the Superstars are confident in their gimmick and performance, the fans can turn it upside down within a moment.
