The latest episode of Monday Night Raw provided us with some clarity on the WWE Championship picture. Yet again, Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton will battle it out for the coveted title.

Notably, McIntyre had been out of action due to a kayfabe injury. WWE had reported that the ‘Scottish Psychopath’ had suffered a hairline fracture in his jaw. As a result, he was absent from Payback.

On tonight’s Raw, an arrangement was worked out to figure out the title contender at Clash of Champions. It was decided that three singles matches featuring top Raw Superstars will take place. The winners of these matches will collide with each other in a triple threat match in the Raw main event.

Whoever came out on top in that contest would challenge McIntyre.

Randy Orton will face Drew McIntyre

The first match of the night was between Keith Lee and Dolph Ziggler. Even though the result was a foregone conclusion, Ziggler gave a characteristically good fight. Lee emerged the victor after a ‘spirit bomb.’

In the second match, Randy Orton was scheduled to face Kevin Owens. However, before the match, Owens was dismembered by Aleister Black. A scheming Orton picked on Owens’ carcass, pinning him under ten seconds after an RKO.

The final match saw old foes Seth Rollins and Dominik Mysterio face off. After a back and forth affair, Rollins curb stomped his way to victory. Hence, the triple threat match featured Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Keith Lee.

Majority of the contest saw the two heels teaming up to take out Lee. However, the ‘limitless one’ showed off his incredible arsenal and dominated both his opponents. It was evident that he was holding back as he needs a bigger stage to unleash his full potential.

The ending sequence of the match saw utter chaos. Keith Lee countered a curb stomp attempt by Rollins and delivered a massive spirit bomb. However, before he could go for the pin, Randy delivered a vicious RKO to him.

The opportunistic ‘legend killer’ then pinned the already devastated Seth Rollins.
