There is tons of drama taking place on Monday Night Raw right now. And everything is shaping up for an episode that will show us what WWE has done to replace the talent that was released a few days ago.
Speaking of released talent, Samoa Joe was one of the Superstars cut loose from WWE after a career that missed glory by a whisker. Joe wasn’t an active wrestler since his injury in February 2020, but he was an active member on Raw’s commentary team.

During Raw’s rating slump, Michael Cole was brought over from SmackDown to lead commentary along with Corey Graves and Samoa Joe. Byron Saxton also appeared from time to time, but it seems WWE has recently shuffled the order.
With Joe’s release, WWE has managed to rope in ex-ESPN announcer Adnan Virk into the show, and although he did have a bit of a shaky start, things will get better for him as he gets used to the flow.
WWE has kept Corey Graves and Byron Saxton alongside Virk for Raw, and the two will continue to hold this role for the foreseeable future. Michaels Cole has been transferred back to SmackDown and has returned to his role there.
Raw will occasionally have its guest commentators, the most popular being MVP and Asuka. The two make the role entertaining, and we hope to see a lot more of them in the future.
Adnan Virk did not have the best start on Raw
Adnan Virk is certainly a name that was talked about a lot following the latest episode of Raw earlier this week. The former ESPN host, now the voice of Raw, had a debut to forget.

Apart from not being too familiar with the product, Virk botched the names of several Superstars and Tag Teams and referred to Erik and Ivar of the Viking Raiders as Erik Ivar, a single name.
Virk was improvising a lot, and it was his first day on the job. Hence, we can’t really place the weight down on him for this. However, one man had a dream debut on the blue brand, and that man was Pat McAfee.

The former NFL punter, who feuded against Adam Cole in NXT, was praised by the WWE Universe for his solid SmackDown commentary debut. It’s safe to say that the commentary team is in capable hands, and we expect to see a lot of improvement in the coming weeks.
