Rey Mysterio is the biggest little man in WWE history. The ‘King of Lucha Libre’ has carved a legacy for himself over an illustrious three decade long career. Now, his son, Dominik Mysterio is also in the business and would definitely love to carve a legacy like his father.

Dominik Mysterio has shown great progress and promise in his almost one-year WWE career. He made his in-ring debut at one of WWE’s biggest PPVs – Summerslam. And he did that against one of WWE’s biggest stars – Seth Rollins.

Despite the infamous rivalry that cost Mysterio his eye, the lucha legend has nothing but high praise for the ‘Messiah.’

Rey Mysterio thankful to Vince McMahon and Seth Rollins

During a recent interview with Alex McCarthy of TalkSport, Rey Mysterio talked about Dominik’s WWE debut at SummerSlam 2020. Mysterio said he was very grateful for the opportunity Vince McMahon gave him and his son. He also had high praise for his former arch-nemesis, Seth Rollins.

He said, “I’m very grateful for the opportunity with Vince McMahon. These are moments that, as well as being a part of the first ever father and son tag team champions, Dominik debuted on one of the biggest pay-per-views of the year at SummerSlam against Seth Rollins.

“I take my mask off to him for his guidance and his trust in Dominik. Not just anyone takes a match like that, goes out there on one of the biggest pay-per-views and has full trust and faith. It was an emotional moment. I was a wreck going into that match. My nerves were just going all over the place, my anxiety, everything!” he continued.

Mysterio said first impressions always count as they are the most important ones. Luckily, Dominik was able to live up to the expectations, of course, with Seth Rollins playing a major role in it.

Dominik definitely has huge potential, and given he’s only 24 years old makes the odds even better for him to become a major star while learning as much as he can during this growing phase. After all, his father, Rey Mysterio, has also said that Dominik will earn the traditional lucha libre mask and name in the future.
