WWE kick-started the first Raw of the year with a little push from the past as some of its famous legends showed up. These legends delivered backstage promos with current Superstars in a bridge between the past and present. However, a gaping absence in this lineup was former WWE Intercontinental Champion Carlito.

Carlito was actively promoted by WWE for an appearance at Raw Legends Night. However, nearly all listed Superstars appeared, but Carlito was nowhere in sight.

Fans have wondered where the once-favorite superstar was and have been asking the question all over Twitter. There were reports suggesting that Carlito had some traveling issues and hence, could not make the show.

Although, according to a report from Wreslting Inc, Carlito was never really booked to appear for Legends Night at all! Apparently, WWE sent out feelers to all the listed legends and received a positive response from many.

The company got ahead of themselves and confirmed Carlito’s appearance as well without him actually accepting the feeler. This resulted in a total no-show at Legends Night.

Along with Carlito, Kurt Angle and Candice Michelle were other legends that did not show up (probably for the same reason).

Carlito still has a title push or two left in him

Carlito was a typical hot-shot over a decade ago when he made his debut in WWE. His charisma and unique persona got him an extreme fan-backing as he got a title push.

However, his decline approached rapidly due to controversies with WWE leading to his release in 2010. The company released an official report that confirmed that his release was “due to his first violation of the WWE Wellness Program and his subsequent refusal to attend a rehabilitation facility”.

Fans have been waiting for the Superstar to return, and there have been several teasers over the past year. The ‘Caribbean Cool’ has a good number of years left in him and can surely have another title run or two, which is what makes him the wild card for WWE.

Unfortunately, we didn’t see the Superstar return as we expected, but we may get a return somewhere down the line. If Carlito is to return, it’ll probably be something big and when we least expect it.
