Ric Flair has had one of the most successful and decorated careers in the history of professional wrestling. During his prime, he had already done what most wrestlers take a lifetime to do. 

“Naitch” has had a series of matches against the best of the business and undeniable legends of the sport, but when all is said and done, it comes down to one question- Which was the best match?

Flair has had 16 world championship reigns, the most by any Superstar in history and a record matched only by John Cena. Every one of his fights was something to remember.

In a recent interview with Kevin Hart on LOL Network, Ric Flair finally laid down the verdict on which match he felt was his best. 

“You know, I get asked that a lot and there have been so many but it would be the match with Shawn. Yeah, that was great at 59 years old,” said Flair. 

The WWE Hall of Famer has praised the match on multiple occasions for being a fitting send-off for him as a WWE Wrestler. Shawn Michaels and Flair gave the perfect emotional content to it, making it a teary farewell.

Flair admitted previously that Michaels had to carry him through the course of the match due to his physical restriction as a result of his age. However, it became an instant classic, and the two gave the audience the match of a lifetime.

Many fans probably expected Flair to choose a match from his glory days where his performances were a lot more agile. The WWE legend preferred, however, to go with his final one.

Ric Flair may have ended his WWE career with this match, but he continues to appear time and again for different storylines with the company.

In fact, he is being entrusted with the duty of organizing the physical WWE Hall of Fame to honor the company’s greatest Superstars. It’s fair to say that his influence has stretched far beyond the ropes.
