“See You on Twitch”- Zelina Vega Demands Unionization Following WWE Release

WWE fans were treated to shocking news hours before the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown. The company confirmed that Superstar Zelina Vega had been released from the company.

There have been no further details regarding her release although there has been some information on the entire issue. According to a report from PWInsider, the idea to release Vega was done and dusted for a while.

In a recent post on Instagram, the former Raw Superstar mocked WWE by announcing that she would be going back to Twitch. This was in response to WWE’s controversial decision to prevent Superstars from using third party entities such as Twitch.

Hours ago, Vega released a tweet saying that she supported Unionisation against this imposing edict. AJ Styles and Xavier Woods, who are popular Twitch users, also traveled to talk to Vince McMahon about his.

After their efforts were in vain, many WWE Superstars had a huge fallout with the company. Zelina Vega was surely a part of this fallout and the decision for her release was made long before the unionization tweet.

Zelina Vega will not be able to compete through February 2021

The terms of her release mean that the 90-day non-compete window would apply. Vega will not be able to compete in televised Wrestling through February 2021. 

Zelina Vega was once taught to be the rising star in Raw. Following the departure of Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey, Sasha Banks, and other huge Raw names, people expected WWE to push her among others.

However, her run fell short after a few failed shots at the Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka. She was then transferred to the Blue brand where fans expected something fresh for her.

Her release is quite unfortunate but goes deeper. How many more Superstars will be released as collateral to this controversial Twitch edict?
