Randy Orton has been in the wrestling industry for a long time and is the one man WWE can truly call its own. Joining in his early 20s, Orton grew up to be a wrestler with experience far beyond his age. He fought the best of the eras and learned from them.

However, when it comes down to who worked with him the best, Orton didn’t have to think hard for an answer. In his latest appearance on Steve Austin’s Broken Skull Sessions, ‘The Viper’ replied immediately to his favorite partner in the ring, and it was the very same man he recently feuded with.

As you can see above, Randy names Edge as his favorite teammate. This was obviously a memory from their time together as the Tag Team Rated-RKO. Edge and Randy Orton teamed up to form a lethal combination of burst and strength to dominate over their opponents.

For those of you that do remember, Edge and Orton formed the team to rival that of Triple H and Shawn Michaels, known as D-Generation X or DX in short. This team had become extremely powerful and someone needed to stop them.

Rated-RKO actually did succeed in this task and became World Tag Team Champions in 2006. They managed to hold on to it until dropping the titles in January 2007 and subsequently broke up. Edge went on to win the World Heavyweight Championship, thus ending their partnership for good.

Fans had hoped for a Rated-RKO reunion until Randy Orton turned heel

The two did link up several times over the years leading up to Edge’s retirement in 2011, and fans did get to see some of the best tag team action they could have in these two.

In 2020, Edge made an unexpected return to the ring and found himself face to face with Orton in the Royal Rumble match. Although the two agreed to link up as Rated-RKO again (through gestures), Randy tried slyly eliminating Edge before he was caught and thrown out himself.

The two engaged in a huge feud throughout 2020 and ended in 2021 with Edge coming out on top. Randy Orton is in the rear-view mirror for ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ now, as he sets his eyes on the belt held firmly by ‘The Tribal Chief’.
