“He Puts It All on the Line”- WWE Legend “Stone Cold” Steve Austin Grades Pat McAfee

In recent times, WWE has seen NFL crossovers to boost ratings, and they have really taken off. Pat McAfee in particular has been a standout performer and has been lauded by fans. But how does he fare in the eyes of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin himself?

In a recent interview with ESPN, the former WWE Champion rated Pat McAfee’s involvement with WWE on a grade scale. He had a lot of praise for the NXT heel.

‘The Rattlesnake’ appreciated McAfee’s effort. He too has realized just how talented the NFL star is on the mic. Stone Cold understands just how important this trait is. He worked with one of the best mic workers in WWE history in The Rock.

He said, “He puts it all on the line. He’s going for it. Basically, I think his verbal skills- he’s slaying everybody but he’s not afraid to go out there and put it all on the line.”

Steve Austin appreciates the fact that Pat McAfee works so well despite not having a wrestling background.  

“So, you know, you wouldn’t expect that from a guy that kicks the football but no, Pat McAfee’s bada**,” said Austin. “I think he’s doing a really, really good job. I give him a solid A.”

Pat McAfee has been the rabbit out of the hat for NXT. Originally booked for a minor feud with Adam Cole, McAfee has now become a regular in the brand. 

His excellent heel promos have made WWE sign him on contract. McAfee has now risen to be the biggest heel in NXT. His work has also been appreciated by critics and WWE legends.

Stone Cold gave Rob Gronkowski a B+ grade for his work. ‘The Rattlesnake’ appreciated Gronkowski’s role but was more impressed with Pat McAfee. 

Getting such glowing reviews from the most popular WWE Superstar of all time is surely a green light for McAfee. He may just be looking at a long career as a professional wrestler now. How impressive do you think Pat McAfee has been in NXT?
