3:16 day is one of the best times of the year for WWE fans as they get to celebrate the career of one of the most popular Superstars to ever have entered the ring- ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin.
A lot of WWE legends such as Ric Flair have shared their favorite matches with ‘The Rattlesnake’, and John Cena showed his appreciation to Austin in his own way by sharing the traditional 3:16 Day poster on Instagram.
Given the fact that Cena’s Instagram account has the most random feed you’ll ever come across, this was a nice tinge of normalcy.

What does Austin 3:16 mean?
Over the years, fans seem to have forgotten why the icon 3:16 got attached to Stone Cold’s character. It all started at a fateful King of the Ring event back in 1996, when the powerful new face of WWE was born.
‘The Rattlesnake’ beat Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts to win (or rather ascend) the throne. What followed was the iconic speech that cemented 3:16 Day forever.
Jake Roberts, at the time, had a devoutly religious character, and Stone Cold used that to mock him. You can watch Austin’s hilarious wordplay in the video above.
Over the years, WWE has celebrated 3:16 days in unique ways. They even had Superstars re-enact the speech and try to mimic Stone Cold in the best way possible.
Surprisingly, Kofi Kingston took the cake with his spot on impersonation of the former WWE Champion. Although this was nothing compared to last year when 3:16 Day fell right on Monday Night Raw.
Unfortunately, fans were not allowed to see it live due to the lockdown, but ‘The Rattlesnake’ made it memorable. In classic Stone Cold style, he entered the ring, cranked open a lot of beers and offered fans a lot of stunners.

Becky Lynch did the honors with him and got the privilege of being able to enjoy a beer with him without getting stunned.

There have always been lough crowd pops every time Austin steps into the ring or when that ‘shattered glass’ hits the speakers. When fans do return, they will surely want some more of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, and perhaps a little belated 3:16 day celebration.
