Drew McIntyre and Sheamus tore the house down at Fastlane 2021 in their highly intense encounter. The two really breached the borders of brutality as they tried to bring the pain to each other.
We knew we were going to see a different side to Drew McIntyre as he entered the ring sporting a new look, which was blue and white face paint, resembling that of the traditional Scottish warrior.

Fans immediately drew references to the movie Braveheart, to which McIntyre is compared a lot. WWE’s resident William Wallace took the pain to Sheamus by working him onto the steel steps.

He also showed his former best friend why they call him ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ when he used a kendo stick and tried to push its end into Sheamus’ eye socket!
Using the kendo stick is no joke.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus are serious badasses for what they go through with the physical and mental punishment. #WWEFastlane

This was the least of the punishment as the two took their brawl all around the screen areas of ThunderDome. The climax of the match was reached when McIntyre sent Sheamus face-first into three of the screens, causing a sickening electric crack with it.
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus did not drop the pace of the match
Drew McIntyre and Sheamus' chemistry in the ring is incredible. This match, just like their past few, is incredible. #WWEFastlane

The intensity of the match never fell as the two brutally fought each other. Drew was in complete control until Sheamus caught him off guard with a huge Brogue Kick. ‘The Celtic Warrior’ was weary with his scars and the wounds from the earlier kendo stick attack were already showing.
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre are ripping each other apart. Tearing each other limb from limb and from pillar to post. Battle scars adding. One after the other. #WWEFastlane #NoHoldsBarred

Taking advantage of his downed opponent, Sheamus used his sheer strength to lift up McIntyre while standing on a barricade! He then delivered White Noise to the former WWE Champion into the Commentary table!
Sheamus and Drew McIntyre find new ways of beating the hell out of each other in every match they have. #WWEFastlane

Things backfired on Sheamus when Drew McIntyre countered his one in the ring only to deliver a huge Claymore Kick to end the match by pinfall. ‘The Scottish Warrior’ emerged victorious against his Irish foe, and Drew proved his dominance once and for all.
I never thought I would enjoy seeing two men beat the living shit out of each other so much.

Fans were absolutely stunned by this extreme performance. Although it wasn’t long as intense matches go, Drew vs Sheamus has the unique ability to be dynamite in a small package. The two have extremely good chemistry which gives them the ability to connect well in spots.

Drew McIntyre now has nothing stopping him from taking on Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania. He never got his rematch, and finally, the path is clear for it. Although, fans wouldn’t really mind another face-off with Sheamus.
