Dwayne Johnson may be one of the biggest names on the planet, but he never forgets where he came from. In fact, he regularly keeps tabs on the wrestling world and its happenings.

The former WWE Champion may be busy but still takes the time to credit his colleagues and co-workers once in a while.

Most recently, he watched the latest episode of the famous Dark Side of the Ring series which features the story of WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts. The episode touched upon the highs and lows of the star’s career and brings to light what has always been a foggy set of events.

‘The Brahma Bull’ was impressed by the storytelling and immediately took to Instagram to credit Roberts and his family for opening up the way they did.

“I applaud the Smith family – Jake, Robin, Mike (Sam) – for having the bravery to speak out on the deep pain they experienced as kids – and the motivation to help those who’ve experienced that level of trauma as well,” he said.

The cut he showed fans on his page is from the earlier parts of the episode. This preview highlights the effects of an irresponsible father on both Roberts and his sibling.

Dwayne Johnson admired the openness of Jake Roberts’ family

Jake Roberts was troubled by these issues later on in life as he faced crippling addiction during his wrestling career. However, he pulled himself back and has managed to stay sober for years.

“Big respect to my squared circle brother, Jake Roberts for his sobriety going on many years now. I’ll always root for my wrestling family/community to overcome challenging odds and win,” Johnson concluded.

Although the snake isn’t really around anymore, Roberts has a unique role as Brian Cage’s manager in AEW. He also spends time dispensing valuable knowledge to the locker room and will undoubtedly steer a lot of talent the right way.
