AEW seems to have come across a trace of what could be the next big thing in the wrestling industry. While it has had its fair share of talent, the creative team seems to be especially excited about Wardlow, who has been progressing steadily up the ranks.
Jim Ross knows talent when he sees it, and the commentator sees the cream of the crop when he looks at Wardlow. In fact, he put a foot out and even claimed that Vince McMahon himself would go out of his way to sign a talent like him.

“Wardlow is going to be a huge star. Trust me on that. He’s the kind of guy that McMahon would covet. He’s the kind of guy that McMahon would do anything to change Wardlow’s mind about his place of employment,” JR said, speaking to DAZN. “I love this kid. (He’s) big, pleasant, polite, intelligent, never had any issues with any of those guys in the locker room.
Jim Ross believes Wardlow will progress like Batista
JR compared Wardlow’s future to the likes of WWE powerhouse legends Lex Luger and Batista, predicting that he will get better and better with time. Ross is sure Wardlow will make a huge name for himself.
“This kid’s got it. He has the “IT” factor. We can’t manufacture the “IT” factor. You can’t anoint them with the “IT” factor. You have “IT” or don’t have “IT”. This kid’s got “IT”. (He’s got) a big frame that promoters covered. Wrestling fans love an athletic big man” he explained.
Wardlow could be the next face of AEW
Wardlow has momentum on his side, and Jim Ross feels he could be the face of the company sooner than we expect.

“He may be the breakout star that we have in our company. It may happen this year. That wouldn’t shock me. I think sometime in the next year, in 2022, he’s going to be “The Guy.” He’s improving. If he stays healthy, doesn’t get sidetracked with relationships, injuries, or silly mistakes, and I don’t foresee that ever happening with this kid. He’s very grounded, very smart, and you can communicate with him.”

JR knows Wardlow could be the star and has it all plotted out on paper with him. Vince McMahon, who certainly knows the importance of a big man with charisma in the industry, could make a few moves to bring Wardlow over to WWE. Only time will tell how he evolves in AEW and if he truly gets up there.
