Just when you thought you had seen it all in professional wrestling, WWE manages to come up with the weirdest stipulation ever. We are talking about the Extreme Rules match-up between Seth Rollins and Rey Mysterio.
Notably, the Monday night messiah has been making life hell for Mysterio and his son Dominik over the past few months.

One of these gruesome attacks saw Rollins severely injuring the eye of Rey Mysterio. That was not it as Rollins and his group of followers also attempted to do the same with Dominik.
However, the younger Mysterio was saved at the last moment.
Earlier tonight on Raw, Mysterio teamed up with a returning Kevin Owens to take on Seth Rollins and Buddy Murphy. The winner would get the right to pick the stipulation for the Extreme Rules match between Mysterio and Rollins.
The master of the 619 would pick up the victory along with the prize fighter. He would pick a stipulation that none of us saw coming.

It’s notable that Mysterio had promised Rollins that whenever he avenges the atrocities inflicted upon him, the result wouldn’t be pretty.
Who would have known that his purpose was to disparage the visual abilities of The Monday Night Messiah.
With the current PG restrictions on the WWE, we have no idea how far the company is willing to push itself. The very billing of the match indicates that it isn’t meant for kids.

With the company constantly pushing its viewers to not repeat what its athletes do in the ring, airing a match that involves people gouging each others’ eyes is certainly a deviation.
Let’s hope that it’s carried out in the most responsible way possible.
