In a recent post on Twitter, Journalist Alex McCarthy revealed a statement of Seth Rollins where he talked about his huge storyline against Rey Mysterio and how it took months of work for it to materialize.
Seth Rollins’ feud with Rey Mysterio has been subject to a lot of criticism. The Eye for an Eye match stipulation was great, but “The Monday Night Messiah” and his obsession with taking other Superstars’ eyes out may have already run its course.

Responding to fans, Rollins may feel that the story deserves much more than what it is now. You can read his statements in the tweet attached below.
Seth Rollins: "Rey has been a big part of this whole thing from the very beginning so I think, say what you will, but there is long term storytelling if you have the patience to stick around and pay attention, so kudos to you [the fans] if you got that." pic.twitter.com/x5CmnhowHA

At Survivor Series 2019, RAW faced a crushing defeat. Out of all the matches and brand wars, RAW just won a single point off of The Viking Raiders and that was it. They had completely lost.
There was shame probably, from losing to NXT, but they couldn’t even manage to beat SmackDown. The job of getting the edge over SmackDown fell on the head of Rey Mysterio. He had to face Brock Lesnar.
Seth Rollins called Rey Mysterio the worst competitor of the night
If you thought that it would be a one-sided match in the favor of Lesnar, you’d have thought right. Mysterio tried his best and even used the help of his son Dominick but was eventually outmatched by “The Beast Incarnate”.
It was clear that RAW Superstars were total losers in the brand wars, and Seth Rollins made it a point to address the roster on the next episode of RAW.
He then laid out the vicious attack on Mysterio, calling him the brand’s worst performer of the night. This is where the seeds of the feud that we see today were sown.
The immense amount of work that went into this storyline is really commendable. Perhaps Rollins has a point. We have to think hard before discarding this storyline.

While the storyline against Rey Mysterio continues with his son Dominick, Seth Rollins is looking at enemies from all sides. Inspite of his feelings towards Rey inside the ring, Rollins has a lot of respect for him outside it.
