WWE Monday Night RAW was not exactly at the viewership position that the company expects. As a matter of fact, there was a point when the viewership was as low as 1.633 million viewers only.

To ramp up the viewership, WWE introduced new segments and storylines. An example of this was the introduction of WWE RAW Underground and the RETRIBUTION storyline.

It may have worked following the Monday Night RAW episode of 10th August 2020.

WWE Monday Night RAW viewership on the rise

According to Showbuzz Daily, the official numbers following the latest episode average to 1.722 million viewers. This is an improvement from the previous week which reeled in 1.716 million viewers.

On the other hand, there was a drop in the 18-49 demographic. While the episode of 10th August was 0.47, the week before it was 0.51.

Here is the breakdown of the 18-49 demographic on an hourly basis:

1st Hour: 1.811 million (0.50). The previous week this was 1.710 million.

2nd Hour: 1.754 million (0.46). The previous week this was 1.824 million.

3rd Hour: 1.601 million (0.46). The previous week this was 1.610 million.

Some of the segments that received heavy promotion for Monday Night RAW are:

Randy Orton vs Kevin Owens

Asuka vs Bayley

Continuation of RAW Underground RETRIBUTION.

It’s clear that WWE has managed to intrigue their audience and they are tuning in to see what happens next. Of course, there is much room for improvement and it is hopeful that WWE will continue to work on the storylines to ensure the rise in viewership holds steady.

Possible increase in viewership for SummerSlam 2020

On top of that, only two weeks remain for SummerSlam 2020. To ensure that the event reels in the maximum viewership possible, WWE will focus on Randy Orton’s punt to Ric Flair after defeating Kevin Owens.

Drew McIntyre stepped in before Orton could inflict any further injuries to Flair.

Considering Orton and McIntyre are due to fight at SummerSlam 2020, this may be another way in which WWE is planning to reel in viewers for SummerSlam.

Unfortuately for WWE, AEW Dynamite beat WWE RAW in all three hours for the 18-34 demographic.
