WWE legend Hulk Hogan and NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal have been friends for a very long time. Especially, as Shaq has a long history with pro wrestling since sitting by the ringside when the Hulkster defeated Ric Flair to win the WCW title in 1994.

The Hulkster and Shaq share a great relationship and often celebrate each other’s achievements. Here is a rare video of Hulk and Shaq having fun at the shooting of a commercial.

Hulk Hogan and Thunder in Paradise

In the video, Hogan and O’Neal are shooting a commercial for ‘Thunder in Paradise,’ which is an American action-adventure TV series starring Hulk Hogan. Hulk asks Shaq if he wants to shoot some basketball, and Shaq replies by shushing him, saying that ‘Thunder in Paradise’ comes up next.

The producers constantly make a lot of suggestions and for a joke, Shaquille replies to Hulk’s hyper dialog delivery by choking him and saying the line. Then, the entire set, including Hulk, had a laugh, with Hulk saying, “That’s the one, man.. that’s the one! Beautiful!” and they go on.

Moreover, Shaquille O’Neal had many appearances in pro-wrestling events. In 1994, Shaq was in a promotional video alongside Hulkster prior to his World Championship Wrestling (WCW) debut against ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair. He cheered for the Hulk and presented the title after he defeated Flair.

Further, in 2000, O’Neal appeared on Monday Night Raw as a guest host in which he ripped off his shirt and entered the ring to support a tag team following a feud with Chris Jericho. Later, in 2013, Shaq and Hulk got together for a backstage session on ‘Impact Wrestling’. In the segment, the Big Shamrock showed his support to the Hulkster as the latter was having issues with Aces & Eights, and the two embraced and shook hands.

Shaq shocked the WWE universe by stepping on the ring at WrestleMania 32 in 2016. But when he was almost ready to start a fight with Big Show, WWE superstar Kane interrupted. In the end, he planted a chokeslam on Kane as well.

Technically, 2016 was O’Neal’s in-ring debut, and later there were other instances associated with AEW. He challenged Cody Rhodes on AEW Dynamite Awards, following the tussle with Rhodes’ wife Brandi. Nevertheless, in 2021, Shaq challenged the Big Show, and the match is yet to come to fruition.
