Rare Photo Shows The Undertaker Breaking Character as He Sobs During WWE Legend’s Funeral

WWE fans know The Undertaker for never breaking his character during his career. Even though he has performed in a variety of situations, including the day of his divorce, he maintains his character both inside and outside the ring. Taker did, however, break character once in a rare circumstance—at the funeral of a renowned WWE superstar.

It takes years of preparation, and intensive training to complete a match in professional wrestling without getting hurt. However, despite being well-trained athletes, many extraordinary talents unexpectedly lost their lives after suffering severe injuries.

Unfortunately, WWE legend Owen Hart, who ascended from the big wrestling lineage on May 23rd, 1999, lost his life. For those who are new WWE fans to give context, Hart tragically fell to his death in front of a packed crowd. Leaving one of the most devastating stains on the annals of professional wrestling.

Like Sting was doing at the moment, he enter on cables, but it broke down. Hart fell to his death onto the ring. Notably, it happened in front of all the fans at the Kansas City pay-per-view event ‘Over The Edge.’ The most catastrophic story in the company’s history, it did indeed shatter the whole pro wrestling universe.

The loss of Owen devastated The Undertaker

Following this tragic loss, numerous WWE superstars showed up on May 31, 1999, at the legend’s funeral to offer their respects. Over a thousand fans—not only WWE stars—came up to pay their respects; everyone was inconsolable, including Taker, who never broke his persona.

Recently, a rare photo of him with John Bradshaw emerged on Twitter in which it is clearly visible that the Undertaker was obviously in great pain. Not only during the funeral but also during the match against Stone Cold after he passed, the WWE Universe saw Taker nearly break down in tears and appear to be holding back his tears. 

Indeed, the event made the man who never broke his character also break his character possibly for the first time in his career. Later, after becoming flooded with emotion during a WWE Hall of Fame event, he broke down once more.
