In Japan, Antonio Inoki is on the same level as WWE legend Hulk Hogan in terms of fame and legacy. The legendary Japanese wrestler formed New Japan Pro Wrestling, appeared in films, and, most importantly, featured in the largest pro wrestling event ever in North Korea. On Friday, the greatest wrestler from the country of Japan passed unexpectedly tragically and left behind the greatest legacy.
Meanwhile, a picture of him and Hogan competing in a tag team bout in Tokyo, Japan, popped up. Notably, Hogan, who was noted for his physique, appears much skinnier than he appeared at his peak in the photograph.

It shouldn’t be surprising that the legendary warriors joined together to battle in Japan. With his iconic pro wrestling career and Hollywood stardom, Hulkster has earned a solid reputation in the entire pro wrestling industry, not only in WWE. Thus, he and his partner Inoki took part in multiple tag team fights throughout Japan.

The legends came together in the 1980s to compete in a number of matches for the MSG Tag League Event, winning twice in 1982 and 1983. Similarly, in 1983, Adrian Adonis and Dick Murdoch squared off against the legendary superstars. However, Hulkster, who is renowned for his ripped body, appears much skinnier. That is unusual, given that he reportedly has biceps that measure 24 inches.
Nevertheless, Hogan and Inoki were able to win the tag league once more in this legendary bout, which also drew Andre the Giant to the event.
Did Antonio Inoki and Hulk Hogan ever engage in a fight?
They did engage in combat with one another when the inaugural champion of the IWGP League was crowned in the 1983 season. Hogan was the first IWGP Heavyweight Champion in this format, and he did it by knocking out Inoki to win the competition. The strength disparity between the two, however, worked splendidly and it become huge. And in the following year, Inoki overcame Hogan on the mat.

Indeed, despite coming from different nations, both left behind similar legacies and had an equivalent influence on the industry. Meanwhile, the passing of the Japanese legend has caused enormous sadness among the pro wrestling community. And, in the annals of the industry, his name will always be written in gold.
