Edge’s accident during the episode with Sheamus led to his WWE return
During an interview with ESPN, Edge discussed his in-ring return after retiring due to injuries. When asked what led him to make his return, he answered that it was the episode of the Celtic Warrior Workouts. During the filming of the episode, Edge took a hard tumble while cycling downhill. He suffered minor bruises but felt really good. “I was all cut up, but my neck was fine,” Edge said during the interview.
This led him to the doctor’s office to get his spine checked. The doctor reported nothing was wrong after the fall, and Edge was doing fine. At this moment, it dawned on Edge to consider returning to the WWE. He made a surprise and monstrous return at the 2020 Royal Rumble after nearly a decade.
