Dwayne Johnson was already born into a wrestling family. Upon not being able to make a career in football, Johnson quickly started training for wrestling. Johnson debuted in WWE at Madison Square Garden at Survivor Series in 1996 as Rocky Maivia. They pushed him as the first third-generational ultimate baby face in the company. He won the Intercontinental Championship in 1997, but fans booed him. In 1997,1997,1997, they sidelined him because of a knee injury.
He returned to WWE in August of the same year and turned heel, joining The Nation of Domination. This heel turn changed his career as later he became the WWE Champion in 1998. In the year 2002, The Rock started his Hollywood career and by 2004 he left WWE to pursue acting. He succeeded there too and returned to WWE in 2011 and also won the WWE Championship in 2012, defeating CM Punk. He had two classic WrestleMania matches against John Cena at WrestleMania 28 and 29.
