Boxing legend Mike Tyson is hands down a wrestling fan. The former Heavyweight Champion made headlines when he appeared in WWE in the late 90s. Tyson was even a guest referee during a match between Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 14. However, Tyson was really a good friend of WWE legend, Owen Hart.

Yes, Owen Hart and Mike Tyson went along well, and they even clicked pictures back when Tyson was backstage at the WrestleMania 14 PPV.

Sadly, Owen lost his life when a stunt went wrong at Over The Edge PPV in 1999. However, recently, a former WWE announcer, Gary Michael Cappetta, uploaded a photo of young Mike Tyson and Owen Hart.

This looks from the time when both the men were at the peak of their careers, sometime between 89-90s. Even today, the legendary Mike Tyson admits that he loves wrestling.

So, naturally, he must have felt devastated after hearing the tragic news of Owen Hart’s death in 1999. Owen literally had it all: charisma, mic skills, legitimate mat-wrestling ability, agility, dedication, and a sense of humor.

Owen Hart is still not inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame

It feels strange that Owen is not in the WWE Hall of Fame because his elder brother, Bret Hart, is a Hall of Famer. Although Bret and WWE chairman Vince McMahon had their differences in the past, they eventually buried the hatchet.

However, it looks like Owen’s widow, Martha Hart, will never forget how his husband died. Martha sued WWE following the tragic death of Owen at Over The Edge in 1999.

So, it looks like for the time being, Owen Hart will not be indicated into the Hall of Fame.

Owen’s legacy still lives on in professional wrestling

There have been various all-time greats in the wrestling business who admire the personality of Owen. Now, AEW President Tony Khan collaborated with Martha Hart to bring the ‘Owen Hart Foundation Cup‘ tournament in order to pay homage to his legacy.
