Randy Orton's crazy police story: Is this why we love the Viper's unpredictability?

Randy Orton returned to WWE in 2023 as a friend to Cody Rhodes. This was also a testament to the real-life bond that they seemed to have. Having worked together as members of the Legacy faction, they have known each other long enough to make their dynamic as fun as it can get.

In a recent interview, the two wrestlers talked their hearts out and Cody Rhodes accidentally pushed Orton to spill the truth about the time he had a run-in with the Mexican police and didn’t know what to do at the moment.

On his talk show, What Do You Wanna Talk About, The American Nightmare opened up the floor to talk about several interesting topics. One point of discussion ensued where before returning to WWE, he had heard rumors about Randy Orton having been a changed man. Rhodes didn’t believe those tales as he knew The Viper was the kind of guy to blow up dynamites in hotel lobbies. This is when the 14-time WWE World champion reveals the full story of what happened. He had bought quarter sticks of dynamite during his stay in Mexico with other wrestlers, probably for work. The Viper confessed, “I ditched the last stick under the bus that was taking us to the venue the next day. And we jumped in the taxi and we were followed the entire time by the federalrales.

As Randy Orton explained in the talk show, no real threat had veered its ugly head for him to be concerned about. However, Paul London, who spoke a little Spanish, may have been trying to mess with him by claiming that the police were chasing the taxi. Although the truth of the matter is that they were part of a rally. Both friends are having the time of their lives laughing about the story. But will they stay friends for long?

Will The Viper backstab Cody Rhodes?

No matter how close the two stars may seem, one thing that The Apex Predator is popular for is turning on his allies. This is exactly what fans thought would happen once Cody Rhodes won the Undisputed Universal Championship. Orton had been in the champion’s corner for a long time, protecting him from threats present on the active roster of WWE. Their friendship, inching closer, suggested to fans that the Legend Killer might betray the reigning champion soon. Although The American Nightmare will be facing a friend at Bash In Berlin, fans can rest easy knowing that Orton is not coming after his title.

Have an interesting take?

As of now, The Viper is eyeing the World Heavyweight Championship. Because of this, he has been removed from SmackDown to show up on Monday Night Raw instead. Given the fact that he is a 14-time WWE Champion, it would be great to see him inch closer to Ric Flair and John Cena’s legacy. Until we see this feud completely wrapped up, Orton won’t be back to work with his friend. This makes the betrayal impossible to pull off. So, even if a betrayal storyline is arriving, we may not see that happening for a while. Till then, we may get some more stories out of him. Hopefully, it doesn’t involve as much trouble as his encounter with the Mexican police.

Do you think Randy Orton was actually being followed by the police back then?
