WWE has decided to go one step further with its recent plans to expand fan interaction. Before WWE SummerSlam introduces virtual fans and larger than life pyrotechnics, the company has announced a virtual meet and greet.

As per the plan, interested fans will get to interact with their favorite WWE Superstars on a 2 minute one on one video chat. Like all good things in life, this won’t come for free. You’ll have to shell out $125 in order to get this opportunity of a lifetime.

The event has been scheduled for the SummerSlam weekend, with fans getting a three day window from August 22nd to August 24th in order to avail this opportunity.

As expected, the response has been overwhelming, with some reports stating that the tickets for Bayley’s meet and greet have already sold out.

WWE fans are no strangers to online interactions with Superstars

I’m pretty sure that some of you might be thinking that no one would want to spend $125 for an interaction that doesn’t even give you an autograph or a selfie with your favorite star. However, nothing could be further from the truth.

For the past few months, WWE Superstars have been using a platform called Cameo. Fans have been paying anywhere between $400-$500 just to get a virtual call out and a small message from WWE Superstars.

In a recently viral piece of news, a fan paid $400 to ask Alexa Bliss out on a date. That amounted to a polite rejection by Bliss followed by a sweet message for her fan.

Of course, WWE was bound to jump on this business opportunity. You can expect these virtual events to continue until live shows are halted. These may become the norm even in a post pandemic world, considering the cost-effective nature of the formula.

Anyways, for now, the focus is solely on the biggest party of the summer. We will be treated to a stacked match card that features the likes of Drew McIntyre, Randy Orton, Braun Strowman, The Golden Role Models and many more.

Even if you’re not someone who’ll pay for a video call, you certainly should for this highly anticipated event.
