The phrase, ‘pulling out the big guns’ is often thrown around in WWE. On Raw, WWE had no option but to resort to the biggest gun they have. Triple H made his way to the ring to kick off the show.

He was talking about the times being difficult when Randy Orton cut him off. After their confrontation turned physical, the Game accepted Orton’s challenge to a match.

There can be multiple reasons for Triple H to make his return to WWE and the ring on such short notice. First off, the bad news surrounding Drew McIntyre‘s positive COVID-19 test foiled WWE’s pre-determined plans. Reports state that along with him, several other superstars have also tested positive for the virus.

There were several notable absentees from Raw, but we can’t attribute all to COVID-19. To make up for the absentees, Triple H might’ve had to step up and deliver.

He is a precious presence on WWE television, and his return spiked people’s interests. If not a genuine reason to return, he might’ve just showed up to distract the WWE Universe from the bad news.

That Triple H had to get into the ring was proof that the show needed a saving grace. Orton vs McIntyre was a blockbuster main event that would have had fans talking about it for days. Their rivalry was one of the best and most intriguing of 2020, and their match would have been nothing short of superb.

Is the Game gearing for an in-ring return?

Hunter wrestled on Raw, but it was for less than five minutes. He took no bumps and only ate a few punches and uppercuts from Orton. The Cerebral Assassin might just be preparing himself for a future in-ring appearance which will last a little over five minutes.

He might be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble. Randy has officially entered the match, and if not the Fiend, the Game is definitely going to cost him the chance to head to WrestleMania. If not Orton, the Game might look to face some younger talent and elevate them. We saw Keith Lee interact with Triple H backstage, and that is a match we would love to see.

The last two opponents the Cerebral Assassin faced on live television were Batista and Randy Orton. They were two of his mentees during the Ruthless Aggression days when Evolution ruled Raw. Could this be a pattern which leads to an eventual retirement match against someone iconic?

The Game has faced the likes of the Undertaker, teamed up with Shawn Michaels, faced his Evolution stablemates, and it all seems like a retirement angle. Gone are the days of him elevating young talent like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. We might just be seeing the end of the Game.
