Poor Ben Askren suffered a humiliating loss to YouTuber Jake Paul this Saturday. The embarrassment for Askren started before the fight, as legendary ring announcer Michael Buffer mispronounced his name. Instead of Ben Askren, we heard Buffer say Ben ‘Askew’.

The night wouldn’t get better for Askren, who would get flatlined by Jake Paul in less than two minutes. He got back to his feet, but referee Brian Stutts called the match off and awarded Jake the win, taking his record to 3-0.

Trolls flew in from all directions, including from the world of wrestling. Renee Paquette was quick to troll Askren based on Michael Buffer’s humiliating botch. In fact, announcing Askren’s name as ‘Askew’ might’ve been the most accurate call of the night.

Even former WWE Superstar and five-time WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James joined the fun, with ‘Askew’ being the joke of the day. James’ husband, NWA World Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis, also reacted to his wife’s tweet.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, AEW superstar Chris Jericho called Jake Paul‘s victory fake. He believed the fight was a complete scam, and so does the rest of the MMA world, including Colby Covington and Aljamain Sterling.
What’s next for Mickie James?

Mickie James ended up unemployed as a part of WWE’s spring cleaning, along with the likes of Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Samoa Joe, and many others. Like Joe, Mickie too expressed her desire to return to the ring, but WWE would not clear her to compete.
Another similarity between Joe and James is their careers in TNA. Both Joe and Mickie James made a name for themselves in TNA, the latter being a three-time Knockouts Champion. Joe himself has held every title in TNA, from the Heavyweight Championship to the X-Division Championship.
For a woman of her talents, James would be an extremely valuable asset to whichever promotion she joins. She could join her husband in the NWA where they could rule together. James and Nick Aldis would be a power couple in NWA, as Aldis holds the NWA Title and James can clinch the Women’s Title from Serena Deeb.

If not NWA, James would be a great addition to the AEW or IMPACT women’s division. Seeing James against the likes of Shida, Baker, Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace would be insane.
