“Please”: Fans Have a Special Request for WWE After 52-Year-Old Hall of Famer’s Tweet About Royal Rumble

With the Royal Rumble event around the corner, wild speculation about names could pop up at the 30-superstar battle royal on Saturday. Both the women’s and men’s Royal Rumble matches have interesting subplots with the added surprise entrants, also a big factor to elevate the excitement.

Usually, former wrestlers or those who haven’t appeared on WWE programming for a long time show up at the Royal Rumble. And now a former WWE Champion has expressed his desire to be at the event.

ECW icon and ‘One of a Kind’ Rob Van Dam replied to a fan tweet that alluded to him possibly showing up at the Royal Rumble. The user wanted WWE to have RVD for the RAW XXX special because it was in Philadelphia and said perhaps WWE was saving him for the battle royale extravaganza.

With RAW XXX being held in Philadelphia, the home of ECW where RVD made his name, many fans expected him to show up. However, that didn’t turn out to be the case. This led one fan to speculate that perhaps WWE wants to preserve him for a surprise Royal Rumble entry. The Whole F’n Show responded to this and wrote, “Works for me.”

This excited the fans, who resonated with Van Dam’s desire to have him in the Royal Rumble match. One fan wrote, “OMG PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN.” Another commented, “Why not. The Royal Rumble is all about surprises from the past. Works for me.”
