NBC’s 2021 show, Young Rock, garnered adulation from WWE fans for portraying humor, heart and nostalgia. Showcasing the life of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, along with the fact that it played a younger version of their favorite superstars, made sure that the fans tuned in to the show.
The show featured younger versions of icons such as The Brahma Bull, Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, and many more. But one portrayal that stood out was that of The Undertaker. However, do you know that The Undertaker wasn’t very fond of his casting choice for the show? In fact, he has a star in mind to portray The Rock whenever ‘Young Undertaker’ runs on air. But who? In the sitcom, Josh Rawiri donned the hat of ‘The Phenom’ and gave his best to portray the dead man. However, in a Patreon exclusive Q&A for his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker revealed his thoughts on the character. While he praised Rawiri for giving his best, the Dead Man wasn’t a fan of the hat given to the on-screen Taker. He even joked that he would be taking revenge against The Rock back by casting Steve Urkel to portray him if there’s ever a plan for ‘Young Taker.’ “It’s a comedy, right? So there has to be some elements of, I guess, the casting in some comedic light. What pissed me off about the whole damn thing was my hat. The hat really pissed me off. I didn’t like the hat. They gave me some kind of just black clown hat. So because I didn’t like the hat I would, if it was ‘Young Taker,’ and I had to cast The Rock, I don’t maybe Urkel or somebody.”

It would be interesting to see Urkel play the Rock. And a sitcom on the life of The Undertaker too sounds like a smash hit to be fair. After all, who doesn’t want to see the Dead Man in comedic scenarios for once? However, being a thorough professional, he might not actually go ahead with the plan. But not liking the hat in Young Rock isn’t the only WWE-related topic The Undertaker expressed disappointment at, as he isn’t a big fan of the 2024 WWE Draft as well.
The Phenom criticizes the lack of changes in the recent WWE Draft
A few days ago, WWE held both nights of the 2024 Draft. Although some interesting moves occurred on both nights, there were no significant changes involving big superstars. This generated some criticism from some fans on social media.

In his reaction to RAW on his Patreon, The Undertaker expressed his opinion on the draft, calling it somewhat disappointing. According to Taker, there was a shortage of major moves, which doesn’t meet fans’ expectations on nights as important as the draft. He said, “You know what it missed for me? I want to see some deals made right. You know what I’m saying? Like a lot of teams, they want a quarterback. They trade up or they trade down. You know, that would be more compelling to watch. You’re expecting your fan base to watch two nights of TV content. And I mean, to be completely honest, there wasn’t a whole lot of change really?”
It seems like The Phenom does not appreciate the changes or the lack of it when it comes to the fundamentals of pro wresting? Do you agree with The Undertaker on his thoughts about Young Rock and the WWE Draft? Let us know in the comments.
