One of the cruelest alliances was arguably Paul Heyman‘s with Brock Lesnar. They have given the WWE universe many unforgettable moments together.
Lesnar’s character astonished Heyman, who had seen The Beast previous to dealing with him. So he was aware of his potential and what he could give the WWE universe.
How did Heyman end up as the advocate of Brock Lesnar?
In discussing how he joined forces with Brock Lesnar, he revealed that WWE initially planned for him to return as Chris Benoit’s manager, not Lesnar’s.

However, two or three weeks before WrestleMania, he approached Mr. McMahon and showed his intention to produce Brock Lesnar’s matches. Furthermore, Vince McMahon granted him permission to proceed.
Additionally, he and Lesnar put up a tremendous bout in which Lesnar severely defeated Funaki and Spike Dudley. When Heyman returned backstage after the bout, McMahon was so impressed that he stated, “Damn, this guy is money.”

Moreover, he added, “I (Vince McMahon) think, I’m gonna put you with Brock Lesnar. What do you think about that? I watch Brock Lesnar winning the NCAA division, One heavyweight championship, I kept tabs. Oh god, I would love to have him in ECW in 2000.”

“I knew this was the next big thing. There was nobody like Brock Lesnar. And so I said, sure I would be happy working with Brock Lesnar.”
Lesnar proved Heyman right by becoming WWE’s Next Big Thing, winning four WWE Championships, three Universal Championships, and becoming one of the company’s most popular performers.
