Paul Heyman Surprisingly Compares Himself to the “Old Jews” to Differentiate Between His Real-Life and On-Screen Characters: “I’m in Desperate Need..”

Professional wrestling stars live two lives while they are active throughout their career. Even though nowadays it is said that kayfabe isn’t a thing anymore, several fans still believe the in-ring persona is the actual nature of wrestlers and managers. Similarly, the ‘Special Counsel’ of The Bloodline, Paul Heyman, recently differentiated his personal and professional nature in the public.

The Wise Man is one of the smartest people in the business. Throughout the years, we’ve seen a character who can silence the entire arena with top-notch promo skills. But he is a bit opposite outside the ring.

Paul Heyman talks about his nature in real life

Recently, the former advocate of Brock Lesnar appeared for an interview on The Moment with Brian Koppelman. The host was honored to have Heyman on his show. Moreover, he asked the former SmackDown General Manager how he maintains both of his personalities. Also, he was curious to know how he is in real life.

Heyman said, “I’m like old Jews. I’m terribly neurotic, I’m like all creative people and I’m in desperate need of psychotherapy. I just don’t have time to go…See, I got like three steps further because I’m not anxious, and then, so it just comes off as a lot of confidence that I am always cognizant of the fact that I’ve never let it slide into arrogance.”

The Wise Man continued, “That’s why Paul Heyman on television is such a villain because I add things to that character that I find to be intolerable in human beings. But he’s so frickin arrogant. He’s so arrogant. And so at the very same time, sycophantic and narcissistic. He’s a self-loathing narcissist.”

The former ECW owner indeed has managed to balance his both personalities. Subsequently, while in the ring, he can be a friendly person during his promos or if provoked, he can rip off the opponent with just words.

The Wise Man is a part and the Special Counsel of The Bloodline. However, that is his on-screen family, as he has a family of his own outside the world of professional wrestling. He is a father of two kids, daughter Azalea Heyman and son Jacob Heyman.
