Paul Heyman at the funeral—loyalty or just another WWE storyline twist?

The wrestling world was in mourning on June 25 with the departure of Sika Anoa’i, one of the legendary figures of this sport and father of the current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. At 79 years old, Sika Anoa’i left an indelible legacy in wrestling history. And this weekend, the Samoan dynasty, led by the WWE star, gave him their last goodbyes in an emotional funeral.

The images that have circulated on social networks show a calm Roman Reigns in the last goodbye to his father. Surrounded by his entire family, the current WWE Universal Champion paid a heartfelt tribute to his father. Remembering his career, his teachings, and the impact he had on his life. At times, Reigns could be seen smiling. Perhaps remembering an anecdote or special moment shared with his father.

However, he wasn’t alone at the moment. His fellow manager and advisor too joined him in this tough period. Paul Heyman, who has been missing from WWE programming since being recently attacked by Bloodline 2.0, also attended the funeral.

Paul Heyman joins the legendary dynasty to pay his respects

In a recent post shared on Instagram by WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, one can see the legendary veteran standing alongside the Wiseman Paul Heyman as they both wear all black and pose for the camera. Rikishi added the caption, “WiseMEN 🩸☝🏾 TALOFA #LateNightsEarlyFlights” proving that at least he still considers Heyman a Wiseman. The picture from the funeral also shows why Heyman may have been missing action because he requested to be on Reigns’ side instead.
