WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar was originally rumored to face Gunther at WrestleMania 40, but plans changed significantly. Although Lesnar was not named, he was implicated in Janel Grant’s high-profile lawsuit. This led to his removal from all WWE plans. However, The Beast is expected to return as soon as possible.
The lawsuit did not name the wrestler but described him as a UFC wrestler and a WWE talent. Although Brock Lesnar was not mentioned, the timeline suggests a limited number of potential wrestlers. As a result, Lesnar was removed from WWE programming and his return was canceled. However, now senior officials of the company are confident that they could manifest Lesnar’s return to an event in 2025.
There was talk of a possible return related to the Royal Rumble that, so far, could not take place. But that, depending on how the cases evolve, could change to February 1, 2025, at the Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana, the date that the Royal Rumble is supposed to happen. Paul Heyman, the legendary manager, recently sat on an interview and praised Lesnar amid the return rumors. The former ECW manager revealed how Lesnar had always been unique.

He said, “Brock Lesnar always had it. Brock Lesnar always understood. Brock Lesnar always knew he was unique. He was different. He wasn’t gonna be the same as everybody else. And the more he grew and stature and leveraged, the more we could dictate the manner in which he was gonna be presented. There’s no one like Brock Lesnar. I mean, even his most, my hard competitors will tell you. There’s no one like Brock Lesnar. So we were not going to ever put him in a position where he was just gonna be like everybody else.” His last match in WWE was at SummerSlam 2023, where Cody Rhodes handed him a decisive defeat. Since then, the WWE Universe has been waiting for his return. But while Lesnar is yet to return, another man that Heyman managed did reappear in the promotion.
