It took 25 years and 21 WrestleManias to finally end The Undertaker‘s winning streak at the event. And the man who made the impossible possible was none other than Brock Lesnar. Year after year, The DeadMan laid waste to numerous top stars in WWE at the Showcase of Immortals to continue adding those glorious victories to his streak.
At one point, the WWE Universe had made peace with the fact that the streak would never break and would go down in history as one of the biggest accomplishments ever in WWE. Recently Paul Heyman commented on this matter by saying that he believes even The Undertaker thought so.
Vince McMahon always wants a return on his investment, says Paul Heyman

Speaking on Tetragrammaton with Rick Rubin, Heyman confessed he thinks that even Taker might have thought that he would retire with an unbroken WrestleMania streak, like the rest of the world and maybe he thought McMahon would let him have an undefeated streak.
He said, “I think Undertaker thought that [he will retire with his streak intact] he was willing to, for it not to be, but I think there came a time when he certainly believed, ‘Hey, I am going to be the exception that defines the rule.’ Those people forget who Vince McMahon is.”
“He is gonna want to return on that investment. It’s just that simple. Vince will phrase it as the times you have to give it back. Okay, I’d buy that. I am a subscriber to that theory. I also understand that Vince invested heavily into that streak,” he added.
But Heyman, knowing McMahon’s nature, mentioned that there was very less chance he would have let ‘The Phenom’ keep his undefeated steak. He surely would want to get something out of the streak, which he did.
When the giant screen at WrestleMania 30 displayed the numbers 21-1, the entire pro wrestling world went into shock.

Brock Lesnar: The One in 21 and 1
Lesnar and Taker had crossed paths many times before and had a few great matches. But the WrestleMania 30 match undoubtedly will be imprinted in the WWE Universe’s mind forever. On April 6, 2014, when Lesnar pinned Taker after flattening him with three brutal F5s, the crowd couldn’t believe their eyes.
The silence in the arena was deafening following Taker’s unexpected and unfathomable loss. Though he lost that day, he gained a plethora of respect and gratitude from the WWE Universe.
