Online space can be too harsh sometimes. Grevin Museum in Paris France recently unveiled Dwayne Johnson‘s new wax work on Monday last week. As soon as the photos of the wax figure reached the internet, it became a subject of harsh criticism and ridicule.

Thousands of fans and Johnson himself expressed their dissatisfaction with the wax figure, as it didn’t properly look like the $800 million Hollywood actor. A week after online complaints, the museum has now promised everyone that they have started remodeling the artwork. A change in its appearance is set to commence soon.

On Monday, the Grevin Museum let the fans know that they have listened to their valuable feedback. Going onto their Instagram story, they assured fans they are “already working on improving” Johnson’s waxwork. They also stated that the wax statue was a little too complicated to sculpt, and it took 10 days to replicate the actor’s tattoos.

In addition, they also stated various problems they had to face while sculpting Johnson’s wax statue. We worked on his face and eyes several times because the most complicated thing about realism is getting the statue to come alive from the visitors’ perspective.” Stéphane Barret, the artist said.

Nevertheless, they are working on remodeling the wax statue. Fans hope that this time the artists make sure to correct the obvious mistakes pointed out by the general public online. But what exactly was wrong with the wax figure? Let’s find out!

What was wrong with Johnson’s wax figure?

On October 16, fans started bombing social media platforms with shots of anger and mockery. Many fans believe that Johnson’s waxwork didn’t look like him in the first place. Firstly, the people accused the artist of whitewashing Johnson as they made his skin very pale.

Another problem that the crowd pointed towards was the likeness of the statue to Johnson’s former co-star, Vin Diesel. Poking fun at the artwork, netizens claimed that the artwork looked more like Diesel than Johnson. The WWE wrestler-turned-actor also openly disapproved of his waxwork recently.

He shared a video of comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr. roasting his statue. He also stated that he would have his team reach out to the Grevin Museum to have them update and improve his wax statue. Looks like Johnson did reach out to them and the museum has already started working on it. Hopefully, they will get it done right this time.
