Much like many actors, Dwayne Johnson came waltzing into Hollywood with big dreams. At the time, Johnson was already a well-established star in WWE. However, he knew in his heart that he had a greater calling. A younger Johnson would have never known that he would be one of the highest-paid actors in the world some years later.
Dwayne Johnson spoke to Later Today 13 in an interview in 2000, expressing his desire to pursue acting after WWE. The host of the show mentioned The Rock’s upcoming appearance in Star Trek: Voyager, in which Johnson played a Pendari Alien. On being asked about his budding acting career, he said, “I’d like to do that, very interested in doing that, serious acting. We have the Voyager coming up, I did that, Star Trek Voyager, it should be really good.”Johnson, as previously stated, made a cameo appearance in a Star Trek: Voyager Season 6 episode. Interestingly, The Great One’s appearance in the TV series led to another opportunity, as Johnson played the Scorpion King in the 2001 film, Mummy Returns.
Furthermore, The Rock got his big break in Hollywood after he landed a main role in the spinoff, The Scorpion King. And the rest is history. Today, Not only is Johnson known for his influence on WWE and Hollywood, but he is also a very successful businessman.
Nonetheless, Star Trek: Voyager was still not The Rock’s first appearance on the silvre screen.

While some fans think The Rock’s first appearance on the silver screen was in Mummy Returns, very few know of his guest role in That 70s Show.
In a pro-wrestling-themed episode, Johnson played the role of his father, the late Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson. The episode aired in 1999. Anyway, Johnson’s guest role in the show was his first time playing a role outside the WWE.
